Terms and Conditions for postal services credit accounts
Credit account facilities
A statement will be sent showing the transactions for the period. The statement must be paid within 30 days of the statement date.
Unless a customer has a credit account, Guernsey Post will provide services only on receipt of pre-paid cleared funds.
A minimum spend or volume threshold may be applied to justify the administrative costs of setting up and maintaining credit accounts. For Postage Paid Impression (PPI) facilities a minimum postal spend of £1,000 per month will apply.
For the purposes of this credit policy each legal entity will be treated as a separate customer.
Invoicing and payment terms
Guernsey Post standard payment terms for postal services are monthly invoicing, based on statement, with one calendar month to pay calculated from the statement date (provided the customer is not in breach of its credit limit) or as otherwise agreed in writing with Guernsey Post.
Any balance in excess of the agreed credit limit is due for immediate payment.
Guernsey Post will not make available any payment terms other than as set out in this policy. No informal or other arrangements with customers will be considered.
Where a customer does not pay Guernsey Post in accordance with its agreed credit terms Guernsey Post shall be entitled to charge interest on all overdue amounts until payment is received in full. The annual rate of interest charged will be 6% above the Bank of England base rate that prevails during the period of the overdue debt.
Credit limits
A customer’s credit limit will be set according to its credit worthiness. Factors relevant to this assessment may include, but are not limited by, its trading history with Guernsey Post, a Credit Referencing agency’s report, receipt of satisfactory trading references, the length of time the company has been trading and, where appropriate, a check on the trading history of the company’s directors and officers.
A credit account with a credit limit above £1,000 will require, as a minimum, a satisfactory reference from the applicant’s bank.
Guernsey Post may, at its discretion, insist that a credit limit in excess of £1,000 is only available when it is supported by a bank guarantee or a Merchant’s Deposit.
Guernsey Post will review credit limits periodically, on request, and on application for additional products or services.
