Postage Prepaid Impressions (PPI)

This service is ideal for businesses with medium to large quantities of mail and particularly those with high volume mailing campaigns. The postage is pre-printed instead of using frank marks or stamps. Postings of letters, packets and parcels may be made under the Postage Prepaid Impression service (PPI), provided each item posted has the impression clearly pre-printed or rubber stamped on the cover or address label.

How to apply for this service

For Postage Prepaid Impression (PPI) facilities a minimum postal spend of £1,000 per month will apply. In order to use this service you must have a credit account with Guernsey Post and comply with those terms and conditions unless other contractual agreements are in place. Click here for information on how to open a credit account.

Costs

There is no additional charge for using the PPI service, but it is subject to payment of the normal postage rate as represented on the PPI and in line with your existing agreement with Guernsey Post.

Terms and Conditions of use
  • You must use a Prepaid Postage Impression (PPI) on your letters, packets and parcels.
  • The PPI must include the service used, the words ‘Postage Paid’ and ‘Guernsey’ and the serial number allocated upon acceptance of the application. The font must be Arial. An example PPI is presented below:

  • The PPI must be placed in the top right hand corner on the address side of the item and should not be smaller than 40mm x 20mm as illustrated above.
  • The PPI must be placed on a solid light background and is subject to approval by Guernsey Post.

On completion of a successful account application, you will be issued with a Posting Docket book in which you fill out the weight of each item, the destination, number of items at each weight, type of service, postage rate per item and the total amount of postage to be charged for each weight category.

There are three copies of each docket. When you deliver your mail to a Guernsey Post branch, one copy should be kept with the posting, you keep the second copy for your records and the third copy should remain in the book.

Each form should bear the name of your business, your PPI serial (contract number) and account reference number.

  • Postings must be presented at Guernsey Post as early in the day as possible in order to ensure despatch on the day of receipt.
  • If postings are to be collected by Guernsey Post they must be ready at the agreed time.
