Mail services to Canada resume tomorrow -1st July 2011

Guernsey Post is planning to resume its mail services to Canada from tomorrow, Friday 1st July. The news follows an announcement from Royal Mail that it is recommencing its service to the country. The company said that they had made good progress processing the mail for Canada that had been held in its pipeline during the Canadian postal workers strike.

Canada's postal workers returned to work earlier this week but, until now, have been unable to accept any new mail.

Dave Bynam, Head of Network and Planning at Guernsey Post said: "Customers can start to post items to Canada from Friday 1st July. However, due to the accumulation of mail within Canada Post's system, we are advising customers that mail will continue to be delayed until operations at Canada Post have returned to normal."

If customers have any questions/concerns please contact Guernsey Post's Customer Services team on 711720

Guernsey Post will continue to provide regular updates.
