The OUR has accepted Guernsey Post’s latest pricing proposal to increase some of its mail charges to the UK. Guernsey Post’s proposal was submitted to the OUR for public consultation in June 2011, after the company concluded successful negotiations with Royal Mail. The OUR have agreed to implement the revised postal tariff on 1 August 2011.
Boley Smillie, Chief Executive of Guernsey Post said:
“We welcome the OUR’s decision to accept Guernsey Post’s latest tariff application which was driven solely by an increase to Royal Mail’s postal rates.
We believe the OUR recognise that we have done everything we can to negotiate the best possible deal for our customers. This includes introducing a new, low cost, Down Stream Access (DSA) service for some of our Bulk Mail customers.
The new tariff also continues to benefit from our extensive savings programme that was agreed by the OUR earlier this year.”
The cost of sending a local Letter, Large Letter and Packet will continue to remain unchanged. Furthermore Guernsey Post is holding all international prices for bulk and public services despite an increase in charges from Royal Mail.
