Response to UK Government announcement - Low Value Consignment Relief (LVCR)

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, today revealed that Low Value Consignment Relief (LVCR) is to reduce from £18 to £15 from November 2011. The government may also revisit the level of LVCR in the Budget 2012.

Boley Smillie, Chief Executive of Guernsey Post said:
"Our primary concern is for those customers who will be affected by today's decision to reduce the LVCR to £15. It is too early to make any firm assessment on the impact this announcement may have, however we will be working closely with our Bulk Mail customers over the coming weeks."
