Guernsey Post enjoys worldwide renown for its regular new issues of Guernsey and Alderney stamps. This global reputation has built up over the decades thanks to the work of our dedicated Philatelic Bureau.
While Guernsey and Alderney stamps are much sought after by the philatelic experts, both professional and amateur, they are also much in demand as gifts among visitors, both private and corporate.
In spring this year Guernsey Post launched a competition for schoolchildren to design its 2014 Christmas stamps.
Christmas is undoubtedly a very special time of the year for many of us and in a competition aimed at all local primary school children we posed the question; 'What does Christmas mean to you?' and asked them, by way of answer to create a drawing or painting which captured the essence of Christmas for them.
We had a fantastic load of entries and judging them all took some time, however we did chose a set of 7 stamps for both Guernsey and Alderney.
The winning designs feature in our 2014 Christmas issues can be seen below and are available to purchase from 6th November 2014.
