Addressing standards
The address should always be written on the letter or parcel itself and not on a label, which may become detached, and it is best practice to put an external return address on the reverse – preferably in the middle of the top edge.
Postcodes should be used on all items of mail. If your mail does not include the postcode at the end of the address it may be delayed. If you do not know the postcode of the addressee, please use the postcode finder, or telephone Customer Services on 711720.
