Guernsey Post launches Buy a Bulb Campaign to help save St Peter Port Christmas Lights
Guernsey Post is supporting the St Peter Port Christmas Lights charity with its 'Buy a Bulb Campaign'.
From Monday 8th May posties will be delivering donation envelopes to residents and businesses. If every Islander were to donate £1, the collective sum would financially cover the cost of the lights for this year.
Dawn Gallienne, Guernsey Post said "We are really pleased to be able to support the Christmas Lights. St Peter Port is the heart of our Island and the lights provide a lovely festive feel at Christmas time. It would be a real shame to lose that. We hope our Buy a Bulb campaign will go some way towards securing their presence".
Islanders are being asked to donate what they can in the envelopes and drop them into their nearest postbox or post office.
Jax Robin, Chair of the Christmas Lights Charity said. " We are delighted that Guernsey Post have come on board with our fundraising this year and that every household/business by receiving an envelope will have an opportunity to donate and secure the festive lights in St Peter Port for 2017. Please view our website www.christmaslights.gg where you will find our diary of fundraising events and more information along with the total raised to date".
