On Thursday 11th November Guernsey Post issued the following statement to the media. The statement was made in response to the publication of an independent report issued by Commerce & Employment on Guernsey Post's regulator the OUR.
"We are pleased to have received the report produced by Commerce and Employment. We welcome the recognition that changes are required in postal regulation as was indeed suggested by the OUR in their recent consultation paper on Guernsey Post's tariff proposals.
We particularly appreciate the recognition of the importance of the Universal Service Obligation (USO) and the recommendation that issues surrounding the USO should be addressed as a priority.
We look forward to working with all concerned to develop a way ahead that is in the best interests of all Guernsey Post customers."
