Your Safeplace must be on your property (please make sure it is not accessible by any dog), or you can nominate a neighbour.
Benefits:
- Free of charge
- Parcels delivered first time (this can include items requiring a signature if you choose)
- No waiting in to receive your delivery
- No need for redelivery or collection
Why not use an outside storage box, shed or garage as a Safeplace?
* A Safeplace cannot be used for Signed For items unless you have selected to accept 'signed for' items in your Safeplace. Terms and conditions apply (see below).
Safeplace Registration Form
Please note that by signing up to our Safeplace service you agree to have a small delivery tag affixed to your letterbox to enable the service to be activated.
(The tags are small and discreet and come in different colours to match your letterbox.)
Once the form below is completed, a Guernsey Post employee will visit to verify and activate your Safeplace (you do not need to be at home for this to take place).
Your Safeplace Questions Answered
A garden shed, garage, greenhouse or an external storage box are all good places to use. Please note that your selected place must be weatherproof to avoid any damage to items placed there (We do not accept a dustbin already in use for waste as an acceptable Safeplace).
Yes, we would ask that all customers that have previously agreed with their Postal Worker to have items left in a Safeplace to register online and state their Safeplace. This is so that we have up to date records and can advise all new Postal Workers of your requirements.
Yes, you can choose to include ‘signed for’ items in your Safeplace.
Yes, you can choose an adjacent neighbour to accept your parcels and if your neighbour is happy to, they can also sign for any items that require a signature on delivery.
Guernsey Post have the right to decline a Safeplace if we feel it is not suitable, therefore this should not happen. Once an item has been left at an agreed Safeplace, the item is no longer the responsibility of Guernsey Post and therefore no compensation will be given.
When an item is left in a Safeplace, the Postal Worker will post a card through your letterbox to inform you that your item has been left there.
If you have a Keepsafe in place, we will retain your item with the rest of your mail for delivery or collection on the agreed date.
