Here are some useful tips.
- Keep your purchase receipt separate. This contains your unique American Express travellers cheque serial number and contact number. You will need this information if the worst happens and your travellers cheques are lost or stolen
- Never countersign your travellers cheques until you want to use them. Countersigning should only happen in the presence of the person accepting them
- Always try to carry your travellers cheques separate from your wallet, cash and credit cards
- Your passport may be needed when cashing travellers cheques, the accepting party has the right to ask to see I.D before accepting them
