Important new requirements when sending items internationally
You can now send parcels to the USA. Please click here for more information.
The Republic of Ireland now require electronic customs data to be completed when sending all items (correspondence/documents/goods) via a priority service (Tracked and Tracked & Signed). We highly recommend that the sender includes their telephone number in the electronic customs declaration.
Submitting Customs information for International items
When posting your item there is now a requirement to submit your customs form (CN22/CN23), electronically before posting.
This requirement applies worldwide under international customs regulations. Every sender must provide an electronic copy of customs information for items containing goods (excluding correspondence). Failure to comply may result in delays, returns, or even destruction of your item.
How to Submit Customs Information Electronically
For Post Office customers;
- Complete an online customs form on our website.
- You will need an HS Tariff Code to classify the goods in your parcel, see HS Tariff Codes information below for more details.
- This will automatically submit your details electronically and generate a customer reference number.
- Bring your parcel and reference number to the Post Office. Our team will print and attach your customs label for you.
HS Tariff Codes - What You Need to Know
From 1st September 2025, new international customs rules require an HS Tariff Code for each item in your parcel (except gifts or documents).
- An HS Tariff Code is a Harmonised System code used globallly to classify goods for customs purposes.
- Enter the code without spaces or punctuation (e.g. 4901990010, not 4901.99.00.10).
Providing the correct code ensures smooth Customs clearance.
