This Victorian 1891 wall box, set within an ornate surround, reflects Guernsey’s postal history, which began with pillar boxes introduced in 1853 after trials inspired by Anthony Trollope. A later box was installed here in June 1938 and served the community until November 2025. An 1898 map shows only five nearby properties, raising questions about its early placement.
