Post box 45, Landes du Marche

This box, installed in March 1965, reflects Guernsey’s evolving postal history, which began with pillar boxes introduced in 1853 after trials inspired by Anthony Trollope’s observations in Europe. The surrounding Marché area was once a medieval market, and its nearby filter crossroads, now busy, were traditionally common locations for post boxes. It served the community until November 2025.
