This Victorian post box, now featured on the Renoir Walk, reflects Guernsey’s evolving postal history, which began with pillar boxes introduced in 1853 after trials inspired by Anthony Trollope’s observations in Europe. The Renoir Walk which is a short, self‑guided route that leads visitors to sites painted by Renoir during his 1883 summer stay. Although its installation date is unrecorded, the box served the community for many years until it's closure in November 2025.
