Guernsey’s post boxes reflect the island’s evolving postal history, beginning with the introduction of pillar boxes in 1853 after trials inspired by Anthony Trollope’s observations in Europe. This George VI wall box, installed in November 1989, originally stood outside the Sandy Hook Post Office, which was later closed and demolished in the 2000s. The box served the community until November 2025.
