Sandpiper has made the decision to move Alderney’s Post Office to their Top Shop Store on Le Huret. The work has already started, and the new site is expected to be ready to welcome customers in early March.
Andrew Holmes, Sandpiper’s Retail Operations Director said: “For some time, we’ve been assessing how we can make best use of our Alderney shops and improve Sandpiper’s customer experience. By moving the post office into the Top Shop, we’ll be able to provide our customers with better access into our store, wider aisles within the store and onsite parking. In addition, the post office counter will remain open over the lunchtime period, staffed by our existing experienced post office team and we will be providing customers with a parcel collection facility outside of the opening hours for the post office. “
The existing post-box on Victoria Street will remain open for people to use, with a planning application being submitted to install a new box at Le Cocqs Top Shop store.
Cassy Fish, Head of Commercial at Guernsey Post said, “We think the out-of-hours parcel collection facility and on-site parking will be a great addition for our Alderney residents.”
