Guernsey Post has announced its roadside Post Box collection times will change from 2nd May with the early afternoon collection times being replaced with morning collections. Actual times will vary between boxes, all of which will be published on the Company's website. The new morning collections will take place between 10am and 12noon.
Customers will still be able to post letters at the post boxes adjacent to Sub Post Offices at the same time as they do now (between 4pm and 5pm) for both same day despatch to the UK and next day local delivery.
Boley Smillie, Chief Executive said "With the continued decline in letters the volume in our roadside post boxes is significantly less than it used to be. We can continue to service all our post boxes more efficiently by moving the collection times to the morning. This still provides a same day despatch to the UK, and next day delivery service for local items."
All boxes that currently have an early morning collection will continue to be emptied at 6am.
