Guernsey Post is pleased to announce that its Town Post Office will be relocating to a new permanent home at 7 Commercial Arcade – a familiar location that previously housed the post office many years ago.
The relocation will take place in early July and follows the decision to vacate the North Plantation building, which is being repurposed as the Victor Hugo Centre. Guernsey Post is also pleased to announce the reintroduction of foreign currency services in town, including a convenient buy-back option. Customers can also purchase up to £500 worth of Euros or US Dollars over the counter. In addition, the new branch will feature a range of gifts tailored for tourists, a curated selection of stamp collectables, and a small postal museum celebrating Guernsey's proud postal heritage.
Steve Sheridan, Chief Executive of Guernsey Post, said:
"We are looking forward to returning to Commercial Arcade, a location with historical ties to the Post Office and a strong central position in Town. This new site allows us to provide our full range of services in a more permanent and customer-friendly location. We look forward to welcoming customers into a refreshed space that reflects the evolving needs of our community"
The new Commercial Arcade branch will also include Saturday opening hours, ensuring added convenience for customers.
Customers with a PO Box at North Plantation will shortly receive a letter offering them the choice to relocate to either Envoy House or the new Town Post Office. EBox customers at North Plantation will have their collection point moved to the Guille-Allès Library, which already operates an EBOX service.
Further details, including the confirmed opening date, will be published closer to the time.
