Guernsey Post is pleased to announce that its new Post Office, located at 7 Commercial Arcade, will officially open to the public at 8:30am on Tuesday 8th July 2025.
The move marks an exciting new chapter for Guernsey Post, enhancing access and convenience for customers in the heart of St Peter Port. The new location will offer a full range of postal services in a more modern, central setting.
To facilitate the transition, the North Plantation Post Office will be closed on Monday, 7th July. PO Box holders will still be able to access their boxes at North Plantation on this date, until 12noon. From Tuesday 8th July, all PO Box services will be available at the new Arcade Post Office. EBOX Customers will be able to access their parcels at Guille-Allès Library from Monday 7th July.
Dawn Gallienne, Head of Corporate Engagement at Guernsey Post said:
“We are really pleased to be opening our new Post Office right in the heart of town. Being part of the Arcade places us in a vibrant and well-used location, with convenient access for customers.
We are committed to ensuring this location is welcoming and accessible to everyone. While the entrance currently includes a high step, the building’s listed status presents some challenges when it comes to making certain physical alterations. However, we are working closely with the Planning Department and the State's Disability Officer to explore a long-term solution that will improve wheelchair access. In the meantime, we’re looking at options for a temporary ramp to better support customers with limited mobility.
Customers who require step-free access, our fully accessible Envoy House branch, with disabled parking bays right outside, remains a convenient alternative. We appreciate our customers' patience and support while we work to enhance accessibility at the Arcade.”
Guernsey Post is also pleased to confirm that the Postal Museum, located on the top floor of the same building, will open to visitors at the end of July. The museum will showcase the island’s rich postal and philatelic heritage.
Guernsey Post looks forward to welcoming its customers to the new Arcade location from next week.
