Guernsey Post has announced upcoming changes to its postal tariffs, which will take effect from 1st April 2026.
While letter prices will increase, all parcel rates will remain unchanged. The company said it had listened to customers and understood the importance of access to reliable, competitively priced tracked options, and confirmed that a new tracked service for UK destinations will launch in the Summer. In summary, the key tariff changes are as follows:
- The price of a local standard letter (up to 100g) will increase from 69p to 75p
- The price of a UK standard letter (up to 100g) will increase from £1.37 to £1.45
- All Bailiwick & UK parcel rates will continue to be frozen for the second year running.
- All Europe and International parcel rates are frozen.
Full details of all rate changes will be available on the Guernsey Post website on 18th March 2026.
Guernsey Post said that, like many organisations, it continues to face sustained cost pressures within its supply chain. Despite these pressures, the company has absorbed a significant proportion of the increases which is reflected in this year's tariff.
Steve Sheridan, Chief Executive of Guernsey Post, said, "Although we need to make selective adjustments to some rates to ensure we can maintain a reliable and sustainable postal service for the island, we are pleased to be able to freeze all parcel rates, locally, to the UK, Europe and International destinations."
Mr Sheridan added, "Following valuable customer feedback, we will be introducing a competitively priced tracked service in early Summer. This is part of our ongoing commitment to support the full range of customers we serve – from islanders posting everyday items to established business and retail customers and our growing e-commerce community. We expect this new service to be especially helpful for businesses and individuals who sell through platforms such as eBay and Vinted."
