Guernsey’s post boxes reflect the island’s evolving postal history, beginning with pillar boxes introduced in 1853 after trials inspired by Anthony Trollope’s observations in Europe. This box, installed in July 1935, served the community until November 2025. This road once hosted one of the original six Victorian boxes. The surviving box - now green - is the oldest in the London Postal Museum, it's plate showing posting times, including Thursday half‑day closing, summer and winter hours, and strict rules such as prohibiting jewellery or coins.
