From Wednesday 1st July 2026, the EU are removing the €150 customs duty exemption for low-value goods. This means customs duty is now charged on all items under €150 sent to the EU.
The charge is €3 per item inside the parcel. If a parcel contains multiple items, the charge increases. Please note that if an item is returned, this charge is not refunded.
What this means for you
You can still send items to the EU as normal. Most countries offer Delivery Duties Unpaid, which means the person receiving the parcel pays any customs charges, taxes and handling fees when it's delivered.
Exceptions
No customs duty is payable on:
- Gifts under €45
- Personal correspondence
Important: Restrictions for Germany, Luxembourg and Denmark
With immediate effect, Germany, Denmark and Luxembourg are only accepting duty-paid shipments; until a prepaid solution is in place, we're currently unable to accept the following items for these destinations:
- Parcels containing goods
- Large Letters containing goods
- Gifts valued over €45
Documents are still accepted
Gifts under €45 are still accepted
Any parcels or Large Letters containing goods sent to Germany, Luxembourg or Denmark will be returned by the destination country, so please check before sending.
